Look at that – we are over halfway through July and I’m just now getting around to the June update. I’ve been procrastinating on everything. Working on college application stuff is NOT FUN and it’s made me want to avoid all computers indefinitely and hide under my bed…
June felt like a really long month for some reason. We got moved into our house at the very beginning. Unpacking went fairly smoothly. I was surprised by how quickly I was able to get my room set up and how fast the boxes disappeared from the rest of the house.
I love my room so much. It has a nice window, high ceilings and it’s tucked away in a corner of the house. It’s so peaceful (except when it’s cluttered – now). π
Other than unpacking and working with Daddy, June was a fairly relaxing month (aka REALLY BORING). We have a pool about a half mile from our house, so I took the kids there several times. They enjoyed the nice, cold water while I baked on the beach chair. XD I always brought books, but the sun was so intense that it was impossible to read the blinding white pages.
Everyone has gotten pretty tan (except Jehosheba – for some reason her skin stays light no matter what. She doesn’t get sun burnt and she doesn’t get tan. XD). I usually get sunburnt pretty bad once and then after that I’m good for the rest of the year.
We had a great time celebrating Father’s Day. Since J’s birthday is so close afterward, we did a combo celebration on one of the weekends before both. We went to Winter Park – close to Orlando. It, of course, decided to rain all over our outdoor plans. XD
We had a nice day, though. We started out by visiting a lovely museum with no modern art! HURRAH! It was still POURING when we left, so we went to a library bookstore and spent an hour looking around there.
The rain finally stopped and we spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the little downtown area and enjoying ourselves there. π We got burgers and huge containers of custard!

Olive oil tasting. *shudders* We did one of these in Croatia and I was SO not expecting how much real olive oil burns. There was a humiliating moment of me gagging and choking in front of everyone else. XD

There was pride stuff ALL OVER. I always think that these mantras are hilarious – especially when we walk into a place that has them and everyone looks very annoyed. In theory, they’re happy to welcome everyone – besides big families with conservatives values.

Delicious!

So cute!
On Father’s Day we went to church in the morning and then spent the afternoon in games, gifts, amazing mousse cake and a movie (that turned out to be not as funny as we hoped).
Jehosheba had her seventeenth birthday on the 21st. *sniffles* She’s growing up so fast, it isn’t fair. *cries* We had a great day, though – starting with crepes and book memes.

Since the birthday girl loves all things bookish, we went to the library downtown to do a scavenger hunt! The teams: Baruch & me, Jehosbeba & Nahum, Daddy + Yoveil + Dovid. We spent a couple hours running around the library. It was so big and the different sections were on different levels. My pedometer said that B and I walked three miles. XD

In the end, it was a three way tie. Tragic.
We got some delicious lavender or rose flavored coffee at a little shop and then went to an art museum. A lot of nice pieces and not too much modern art (I thought it was funny that all the modern art was under the American Art section).

For supper, Jehosheba requested moussaka. *heart eyes* The boys were DEVESTATED because they hate eggplant.

We all gave J our gifts. Most of the gifts were either books or bookish items! It was so fun to see her surrounded by a massive stack of classics (and MANY pringles).

Last of all, we enjoyed her ice cream cheese cake. So amazingly delicious.

In other random news, I did a photoshoot with my gliders. Yiska, Ink and Ilona did great, but Hektor is still very skittish and ran off after two pictures. XD

That wraps up June! How did you spend your month? Can you believe that we’re almost to AUGUST?!!!!! My goodness, where is the year going? Time is flying too fast. I need a pause button, time to collect myself and to figure out the future.
Have a great day, friends!

I’m so glad y’all moved into your new house! That must be such a relief.
Happy belated birthday to Jehosheba! I think the celebrations looked really fun…especially the library scavenger hunt!
The sugar gliders are so cute!

So, when do you start college, or have you already started?

Weeeell… long story there but the short version is that they require vaccines and I couldn’t get an exemption from them. So I decided not to take that path and am now back to square one trying to figure out what to do with my life. π

Oh wow, yeah I guess they probably do. Are there any smaller colleges that maybe don’t, I wonder?
