Random Life Update: January

Hey guys! The first month of 2021 is almost over! It ended up being a fairly busy month for me!

January 1st, we got home late from our trip to Houston. We watched the new Pixar movie Soul and had the rest of Dovid’s birthday cake! ๐Ÿ™‚ That was basically all we did, but it was fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

January is birthday month here in our home! Daddy’s birthday was on the 3rd! We had a great time. Mama made tiramisu cake (ammmmazing!). We had chicken sandwiches for supper and then Daddy opened presents. It was a lot of fun!

Nahum had his 12th birthday a few days later! He had a piecaken – so interesting! Basically, it’s a pie and a cake together covered in frosting. It had a really unique flavor and it was something that we hadn’t had before! Nahum got a TON of birthday gifts. By the end of the day he was like, “I’ve never gotten everything I wanted for my birthday. This year, I got too much.” LOL.

Mama’s birthday is the third and final for January! It is…TODAY! ๐Ÿ™‚ We will be having cake and presents tonight! Please help me in wishing her a happy birthday! โค โค โค

School is going well. I didn’t start until half way through the month, but since then I have enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Math is still my least favorite subject, but it helps to have a teacher that is always joking. ๐Ÿ™‚

Crazy Writing Week happened again! SO FUN! I wasn’t nearly as productive as I was last time, but I still got quite a bit of writing done! After that was over, my parents enrolled Jehosheba and I in the Young Writers Workshop, which is SO MUCH FUN!!

(I’m jumping back and forth between a lot of topics here, but bear with me, okay? I was up really late last night.)

I sold my sugar glider joeys! (Technically, they’ll be going to their new home next Saturday!) I’ll be sad to see them go, but I know that they are going to a very good home, so that is comforting! Dreamer also has new joey(s) in pouch, so I will get to watch more adorable babies grow up! โค

Okay, and the last piece of news: Our Hobbit Meals. Yep! So when we were in Houston, there was this restaurant that was Hobbit themed. (The food portions were very Hobbit sized, lol!) For Daddy’s birthday, Jehosheba and I bought him the Hobbit/LOTR movies. Mama decided to give him certificates for “Hobbit meals” each Friday while we watched the movies. We have made Hobbit/LOTR themed meals for the past four weeks! It’s been SO MUCH FUN! One of the most interesting ones we did was a flambรฉ meal (for The Desolation Of Smaug). It was really fun to light the food on fire and watch the beautiful blue flames!

Well guys, that’s all for today. Sorry this post was scattered. My brain is worn out at the moment, lol. I’d try to drink coffee, but it’d just make me crazy. XD So tea here I come.

What did you do this month? Have you ever had a flambe meal? If you watched Soul what did you think of it? Did any of you have birthdays this month?

  1. Happy birthday to your mama, one of my favorite people in the whole world!! I loved the pics she sent of your meals, though I told her Iโ€™d be worried about setting my own kitchen on fire, haha!! We havenโ€™t seen Soul, there were some spiritual elements in the reviews I read that raised some flags for me personally, so weโ€™ll probably sit that one out. But really, any family movie time is special no matter what it is! Last night we watched Homeward Bound 2 with our boys. โค๏ธ And yay for the Writers Workshop, thats exciting for you both!!!

Haha, yeah, I was kind of worried about the fire thing at first! But it turned out to be really fun!
Yeah, Soul was….interesting. Very strange and not one of their best!
      Yeah, it’s super fun!

  2. Happy birthday to Dovid, your father and mother, and Nahum!
I enjoyed reading this, Hattush! It sounds like you had a great month! We didn’t have any birthdays in January, but my youngest brother will be turning 12 this month.
Everything kinda went as usual in January, except that my sisters lost their jobs. ๐Ÿ˜• The place they had been working at was really quite ideal, but…yeah, current events changed that.
One good thing on that same note is that my 20-year-old sister has gotten TESOL certification and will now be setting up a profile on Cambly, which is a platform on which she’ll be helping people improve their English. ๐Ÿ˜Š So I’m excited for her about that!
