Hey everyone! Happy New Year! Can you believe that it is already 2023? *gasps* I really can’t….
Anyway, it’s been a while since I did a book haul. I got quite a few for my birthday, we visited a book store and I also got a bunch for Christmas! 😉 Thank you to everyone who gave me such awesome gifts. ❤ I hope you enjoy this haul. (Also sorry if this is scattered, I’m falling asleep as I write this. XD)

I love C.S. Lewis’s books and his writing style. I’m so excited to read these four! *heart eyes* I’m interested to see how the Space Trilogy is because…I just don’t think of C.S. Lewis as a sci-fi writer, lol. If anyone here has read them, how were they?

Ahhh this stack just makes me happy. I’ve wanted to read 1984 for so long, but it was super expensive everywhere I found it. I couldn’t justify spending $10 on such a short book, lol. So when I found it on Thriftbooks for $3ish I got it.
All of those stories…I’m just so excited to dive into!

I had really high hopes for The Color Purple and was extremely disappointed in it. It was one of the few books that made it onto my Worst Books of 2022 list. XD
I’ve already read To Kill A Mockingbird two times, but I only had the kindle version. I am super happy to have the physical book now!

*heart eyes* Memoirs, biographies, and autobiographies are some of my favorite things to read. I’m excited to read Unbroken because the movie was…*criiiiiies*

Books on faith are so encouraging and I’m excited to start these as part of Bible time. 🙂

And miscellanies, lol. I got the autism social rules because (1 I think that my future will involve something with autistic kids (2 I’m in a phase of studying autism so it’s all interesting, lol (3 A book on social rules? It’s gotta be helpful for someone who doesn’t understand them, lol.
The Gulag Archipelago was highly recommended and I’m really interested in that time period, so why not?
I’m quite happy with my little book collection now. *heart eyes*

Thanks for reading this post! Have you read any of the books I mentioned above? What is your favorite genre?

Also, if you want to get some cheap books, Thriftbooks is great. If you sign up for their reading rewards program and spend $30 you and I can both get a free book. 😉

I’ve read Fahrenheit 451 and Out of the Silent Planet, but none of the others, though I’ve heard of most of them. Nice haul! I have one shelf dedicated to new books I haven’t read yet, and I just can’t seem to empty it XD. I like thrift stores too much, especially our local one that has books dirt cheap , and lots of them!

All of those classics make my heart happy! Have you read Jane Eyre before? If not, you’re in for a treat!
I want to read basically all of the classics you got, but I think I want to prioritize 1984, Fahrenheit 451, and To Kill a Mockingbird. I hope you have a good time reading all these!

I know, I was so shocked when I heard that he wrote sci-fi. Read it and let me know your thoughts! 😉
Thanks! Happy new year to you, too, Corrie.
