2022 Christmas Bucket List

Hey guys! MEEERY CHRISTMAS! I am in a very festive mood today. Maybe it’s the pine-scented candle that was burning all morning. Maybe it’s the Christmas music that’s playing over the radio. Maybe the cloudy sky and the freezing air have something to do with it.  Or maybe it’s the early Christmas shopping that I’ve been doing.

Whatever it was, GUYS. CHRISTMAS IS COMING!!!

I’m so excited. I love December. I love the lights, the festivities, the joy, and the snow (in moderation. We have plenty…) This is an awesome month and I want to take full advantage of it. I bet you do, too. After all, it’s already the 7th! Just eighteen more days until CHRISTMAS! Why not make the most of those days by doing some Christmas activities?

I’ve put together a holiday bucket list for you to enjoy this December! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

*dances away while singing Jingle Bells*

#1: Candles

Ah yes. There is nothing better than lighting that perfect Christmas candle and letting the festive smells wash over you. So many fun Christmas memories to be reminded of…ah.

#2: Play Christmas Music

This is one of my favorite things to do. I play Christmas music in the middle of summer when we’re all melting with heat and can’t remember the last time it snowed. But seriously, get out some of those old Christmas tunes and have an awesome time!

#3: Dance Party

Using the music that you just put on, have an impromptu dance party! Dovid’s favorite thing ever! 😉

#4: Festive Food

Eggnog, sugar cookies, and hot cocoa. GUYS, IT’S THE HOLIDAYS! Indulge a little. 😉 Memories last a lifetime – so do a few extra calories really matter?

#5: Christmas Movies

*shrieks happily* YEEES! Even though 90% of Christmas movies are either romances (yuck) or so cheesy, they’re still fun to watch. If you’re like me and tend to be nostalgic, watch them for that sake. 😉

My favorites are Elf, The Grinch (cartoon version), A Christmas Carol and It’s A Wonderful Life.

#6: Wrap Gifts

If you’re like me, you buy gifts super early and then forget about wrapping them until the last minute. Since it’s so late, you end up throwing them into a plastic bag and giving a sheepish smile to whoever you’re giving the gift to. For example. Ahem. So, with eighteen days to spare, get started on the big task of wrappin’!

#7: Plan A Party

Remind friends and family how much you love them during this special season. Make some special foods, laugh together, be a little crazy and fun!

#8: Volunteer

Helping people is an awesome way to get into the Christmas spirit! Giving is truly better than receiving.

#9: Get A Tree

Uh, because we have young children, we don’t do trees. *has visions of Dovid pulling a highly decorated tree over on himself* Just, no. If you have very self-controlled toddlers, go out and get a tree. DECORATE! HAVE FUN!

#10: Make Ornaments & Decorate

Yep. So fun.

#11: Ginger Bread Houses

We used to do this and it was SO MUCH FUN!! (Especially the part where you eat the houses! XD)

#12: Random Acts of Kindness

It can be as simple as writing a note to a sibling or making them a special drink.

#13: Christmas Memories

Sit around a nice warm fire and look through old pictures. Talk with family. Remember all of the awesome Christmases that you’ve been a part of. And, of course, eat cookies while you do so. 😉 (That’s a command from a true Cookie Lover. XD)

#14: Have A Snowball Fight

(Of course, this only works if you have snow). XD I’d be happy to send you some of ours. XD

#15: Make Snow Candy

Again, you need snow. This is SUPER fun, though! We did this a few years ago and had a blast!

#16: Read The Christmas Story

Remember what God has done for us. Remember WHY we are celebrating in the first place. Take a moment to appreciate the great gift that was given so many years ago.

#17: Cookie Swap

Get together with friends and exchange some of your favorite cookies! Food is amazing. Are you seeing a theme here?

#18: Look At Christmas Displays

Take a drive one night and just enjoy the lights. They’re so beautiful, shining out amidst the darkness.

#19: Holiday Cards

Snail mail brightens days. I promise you. Send out cards and let people know that you’re thinking about them during this crazy busy season!

#20: Winter-Themed Recipes

One word, people: INTERNET. There are so many fun, festive recipes online. Spend an hour or so looking through and finding something super delicious to make this holiday season!

#21: ENJOY THE SEASON

Self-explanatory! Just take an afternoon to relax and enjoy this season! It only comes once a year – make the most of it!

I hope you enjoyed that! MERRY CHRISTMAS, my friends!!!!

SIDE NOTE: Okay, fine, I’ll be honest. I actually wrote this post in 2020, but somehow I didn’t get published and it stayed in my drafts. For two years. Um. So I found it again this year and thought, “Hey, I’ll repurpose this.” Let’s all just laugh, okay?

What are some of your holiday traditions? What’s the best part of December? Do you like cookies????!!!!

I have a summer collab sitting I’m my drafts that was supposed to come out 2 years ago so…… I feel ya.
You don’t like romance movies? (For the record, I don’t 😂)
Great list! Really, I probably don’t listen to as much Christmas music during the Christmas season, as I do the rest of the year. But basically just whenever I’m in the mood to hear a Christmas song I play it.
I haven’t made a gingerbread house in a few years, so this year I’m going bold. I’m making an A-frame Christmas house. It should be interesting🤣

    1. Lol, that’s awesome. XD
Noooope, I deeply dislike romantic movies/books/songs. I just find them all cheesy and boring and sloppy and BLECH.
YES! What are some of your favorite Christmas songs?
Ooo nice! I hope the ginger bread houses go well!!

      1. Too true😂
Ikr? And the cheesiness is off the charts! And the plots? Like come on! We know these characters are going to end up together even though they pretend to hate each other😂
I like lots of Christmas songs. The classics ofc, Mama’s getting ready for Christmas, Christmas like a Lullabye, The night Santa went Crazy…. ect.
I will be making them tomorrow, since I got sick on Saturday night and Sunday I was laid up. My dad thinks I might have gotten the flu. So now we are flu sisters😁
