August was a pretty uninteresting month. LOL. It was a nice, relaxing, uneventful 31 days. *shrugs*
Let me think…
Work
Work was good. Our newest client has very surface-level emotions that change at the drop of a hat, so I’ve been learning a lot about that. When to be compassionate and empathetic and when it just makes her more upset. Not easy but I’m relieved that all the staff are dealing with the same thing, haha.
Work is also teaching me how to cook. I’ve been baking for years, but I’ve avoided cooking as much as possible because I always seem to burn wherever I make. But at work there are days when I am the one chosen for supper duty and have to say a prayer and hope that it is edible.
Nothing has burst into flames and I haven’t set off the fire alarms yet, so I’m optimistic. π
Writing
I FINALLY got some writing done in August. After avoiding it all summer, I am pleased to say that I was able to write 500 words every day for much of the month. Whether or not those words are good is the question. π
I sadly left YDUBS (an online writer’s community). I loved it so much and enjoyed all of the advice and getting to know people, but I just wasn’t making good use of all of the content and it was EXPENSIVE. So I left. π’
Health
I kept up my streak of exercising every day and finally started doing more than a couple of miles daily. Which is nice. But also very hot and sweaty.

Books
I read A LOT in August. I started Don Quixote. Man, it is one hilarious book. ππ I just about died laughing. You have to read at least a couple chapters. Don Quixote actually reminded me a lot of Younger Me. XD When I was elevenish, I was absolutely OBSESSED with knights. It was a humiliating stage. My journals may or may not have been filled with thees and thous. XD
βFinally, from so little sleeping and so much reading, his brain dried up and he went completely out of his mind.β

Life
I FINALLY got my driver’s permit!! ππ I was so insanely nervous and I was 90% sure that I would fail it. So imagine my utter shock when lo and behold I passed. I’m so happy that it is over. π Now comes the even scarier part – actually driving! π£
We had a lot of great family time. Lots of wonderful hikes, beautiful Shabbat meals and adorable siblings. π So thankful for my family!

Also Nahum and Baruch (and even Yoveil a bit) have gotten back into magic and card tricks. They’re really good! π It is really fun to see them study and get good at tricks!
And that was about it! What did YOU do in August?

Sounds like some exciting moments and lots of learning and consistency! So awesome and inspiring! Thanks for sharing π

It sounds like a progressive time! Congrats on your permit! In august it was my sister’s birthday and it was also a busy time of life. But here I am! Still keeping up, I have been trying to listen more to the Bible and focus on Christ. I recently was hit hard by Matthew 5 21:26. Made me think a ton.

Nice! Tell your sister happy birthday from me! π I’m so glad. β€ It's wonderful that you're focusing on Christ and the Bible. Matthew 5 21:26 is a really hard but good passage.
