Hey guys! It’s that time of year again! Christmas songs are playing on the radio, we have holiday scented candles burning and there are lights everywhere.
I don’t know about you, but I love this season. I love how festive everyone is. I love the smiles, the joy and the childlike glee that we all get about this special time of the year.
I also know that the Christmas season isn’t always easy. There’s stress, missing those who have gone before us, cooking, more stress….it’s easy to get discouraged and want to toss the whole season all together. Last year my family was in the process of a move. We spent Christmas day amidst walls being painted and boxes still not unpacked.
But for today, can we just close our eyes, take a breath and enjoy this time of year? Let all of your worries, fears and stress just fall away – if only for a moment. And breathe.
This year was hard.
A new one is right around the corner.
This year was scary.
This year was insane.
It won’t always be this way.
Maybe your troubles won’t blow away with the flurries of snow outside. Maybe they’ll stick to you and refuse to leave. Wherever you are, whatever you’re going through…just take a moment and breathe. Remember what we celebrate this season. It isn’t the lights or Santa or the presents. It’s the miracle of Love. The Greatest Gift that has ever been given. We celebrate Jesus and his sacrifice for us.
You’ll make it.
