Hey guys! I love reading Day In The Life posts. I thought I’d do one about my Friday, Hanukah style! ๐ So enjoy!
8:35 AM – I wake up and crawl out of my very nice warm bed into the cold air. XD I get ready for the day and then write in my journal and make my checklist for the day.
A still very tired me. XD I tidy my room and vacuum (anyone else love vacuuming???).
9:00 AM – I work on finishing up a post for Sketch Scribble Scribe. Then I head in for breakfast. (In our defense, we normally eat a lot earlier, but we started the day later than normal.)
Blueberry cereal.
While we eat, Mama reads to us from the Book of Maccabee. It’s super interesting! Then I do my (breakfast) chores.
9:40 AM – I finish up the blog post and get that up.
Then I start my school work for the day. I finish the Divine Comedy!!! It was a beautiful poem, guys. I’ve wanted to read it for a while, and then I ended up doing it for my school! So fun!
I also finish my third quarter in my Christendom class!!!!!! I love seeing that “100% completed” thing there. Ah, no better feeling. XD
I reward myself with lemonade. (It’s super easy to make – just lemon or lime juice, stevia, water and lots of ice!) Then I continue to work on school. (Math, yay.)
12:50 PM – I take a break for lunch. We’re having pb&j gluten free pancake sandwiches. (Long name, lol). Mama reads more from the Maccabees.

1:20 PM – Back to school! Lot’s of reading!
And writing classes!!!!
In the midst of trying to focus, there is a stream of constant screaming and fussing children. Lot’s of noise that makes it very hard to think. Even with very good headphones. XD
3:00 PM – I finish school for the day. Mama and Baruch head into town for their date. I babysit. While the kids are working on cleaning up the downstairs (I bribed them with promises of leftover rugelach), I start my chores.
Once that is finished and everyone is happily in place, I watch a couple sugar glider YouTube videos.
4:00 PM – I work on my daily writing and story planning. Normally I do this in my room, but since I’m babysitting, the couch in the living room becomes my headquarters.
Lot’s of world building! But I’m getting super close to being done and I hope to start my new novel at the beginning of January!
Maps are vital to this story and MAN, they are hard to make! I am super happy that I’ve been able to finish them up today!
Daddy comes home. ๐
5:15 PM – Mama and Baruch get back. Jehosheba and I hang out and talk for a while. I work on responding to my snailmail friends (<3 โค <3). I check my blog, respond to comments, reply to a few emails and work on Hanukah gifts. (Each night of Hanukah, everyone gives someone a little gift).
6:00 PM – I sit down to read for a bit. I’m reading the Wingfeather Saga by Andrew Peterson. ๐
6:35 PM – I work on blogging things while listening to K-Love. ๐ (CHRISTMAS MUSIC, GUYS!). Once I’m finished, I read more.
7:30 PM – Suppah time! For as long as I can remember, Fridays have been pizza/movie night. Tonight we had gluten free bbq, pepperoni and taco pizzas, along with oven-fried breaded zucchini.
If you can’t tell, I am a huge ran of onions. ๐
We watch Godmothered. It is hilarious, besides the annoyingly cheesy ending.
We have leftover rugelach for dessert. Yum!
9:15 PM – The movie is over. We clean up from supper, feed the pets (Dreamer’s just waking up!) and put our Hanukah gifts on each other’s beds.
9:40 PM – Hanukah time!! Daddy says the blessings and then we light the candles. Mama reads Hanukah jokes and parodies on Christmas songs. The kids play dreidel (with beans) XD.

The longest candles lasts an hour and ten minutes! (We always time them and guess which one will last the longest!)
10:50 PM – The candles are gone and everyone is tired. We get ready for bed. We have family bible reading and say goodnight.
11:10 PM – I play with my little Inky and Dreamer. I check on the joeys and hold them for a little while while the parents are out and about. While I do so, I listen to Myths and Legends from around the world (from librivox- they’re awesome!!!)

12:00 AM – I crawl into bed very tired. Normally on Fridays, I stay up really late and read, but I am extra tired tonight and actually fall asleep pretty quickly (for me, anyway!).
And that is the end of a day in my life (while we celebrate Hanukah)! I hope you’ve enjoyed! Happy Hanukah!

We've never really celebrated Hanukah, but it sounds fun. ๐ We are familiar with the Maccabees story though. ๐ We've watched this little cartoon version SO many times since I was little! XD Have you guys seen it? I thought you guys might enjoy it, if you haven't. ๐ Even I still like watching sometimes XD

Your day sounds very productive! Do your parents pay you for babysitting your siblings or is it more like a chore? (you donโt have to answer that ๐ just wondering)
I saw that movie on Disney+ it looks good! I hopefully will watch it soon!
Also, I use the same lemonade recipe! that is my favorite lemonade ever! i make it so often! I love that itโs not overly sweet and you donโt have to worry about to much sugar.

Haha, babysitting is more of a chore. But I don’t really mind ’cause the kids (normally) behave.

Very fun! Thanks for sharing! And Happy Hanukah! we don’t celebrate it, but it sounds fun! Yes, I do like day-in-the life posts! ๐
My day looks different every day, as we never can quite get into a schedule! ๐ But the basic outline looks pretty similar every day. I won’t even try putting times on things, but here’s a pretty typical week day. I get up, have my devotions, usually I’ll go on the computer afterwards. Sometimes I’ll do exercise at this time, but it always varies. Then I’ll get ready for the day, put up my sister’s hair, and go downstairs to set the table and make and eat my breakfast.
After that, my brothers and I will “do the opening” for school, which includes praying and singing a hymn. Usually, I’ll go back into the kitchen to finish up some chores, and then I’ll head upstirs to my room to start school (usually my math). I’ll stay up the for a while to do a second subject and to do a few little things like reading.
On two Thursdays out of three weeks, I do the vacuuming (and I hate the vacuuming for various reasons), so if this is one of those days, I’ll do the vacuuming about this point.
If I don’t have vacuuming to do, I might just go downstairs and go on the computer like I’m doing now (that’s IF my brothers will let me), or I’ll help out with getting lunch ready. About the time I’m done, I’ll do the, I guess you could say, “reading skills” part of school, if it’s the day to do it.
Then I’ll eat lunch (about 3:00, usually, to give you some idea of our “crazy” schedule) and “care for the carrots”, which is peeling and cutting them. ๐ I’ll clear the table, wash the dishes, and load the dishwasher.
Some days, we’ll go and drop my sister off at work around this time or go for a walk.
Then I’ll do more of my school (which sometimes I’ll finish at this point) and maybe sit out on the porch while doing it (if we didn’t go for a walk).
Thursdays are ironing days, so if this is one of those days, I’ll iron then go help my mom with dinner. If it’s not one of those days, I’ll just help with dinner (which includes setting the table).
Once I’m done, it’s time for dinner. After dinner, either me and one of my brothers, or both of my brothers will go pick up my sisters from work. If I’m not going, I’ll do stuff on the computer.
When my sisters come home, that will usually be the time my mom and dad eat, so we’ll all have family time, then.
When that’s finished, if I’m on after-dinner chores, I’ll either clear the table and wash the dishes or load the dishwasher and dry dishes. Then I’ll try to do exercise. Afterward, I get ready for bed and either finish up some stray subjects, read, or memorize Scripture. At some point, we’ll be called for family devos, and once that’s done, it’s time for bed. However, if it’s before 11:00, I’ll sometimes read for a bit before getting into bed. And there you have it! He-he, I just about wrote my own post (minus the pictures) there! ๐
