Random Life Update: September

Guys, this month has been crazy. *faints* Our surprise move was…surprising. XD On the 12th we went drove down to GA and spent the entire day in the van, looking at houses. We got burgers and ice cream at nine that night and then didn’t get home until after one AM. It was a long, exhausting day. XD

The next weekend we went down again and spent three days going from rental to rental in hopes of finding a good one. Three very very very very long days. XD ๐Ÿ˜‚ We also had to bring J’s guinea pigs and my sugar gliders along. Since we’d already done it once before, we (somewhat) knew what to expect and what we needed to bring. It all went very well, I’m pleased to announce. We found a house and signed papers the Sunday that we returned home!!! We celebrated with (under-cooked) mint brownies. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Me reading in the van on the three hour drive down. I ended up reading three and a half books. XD

Lil Dovid did very well for being in the van for so long. He was THRILLED when he finally got out, though. He ran and ran and ran and RAN. He HAD to make up for the time that he lost while sitting in the seat all day! ๐Ÿ˜‰

On the drive home, my babies were asleep and it was so much fun to just sit and pet them. ๐Ÿ™‚ Dreamer was wrapping her tail around my finger. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

CUTENESS OVERLOAD. Yes, I may be overly obsessed with sugar gliders….you would be, too, if you had them. ๐Ÿ˜‰

HER TINY HAAAAND!!!!!!!!! I AM IN LOVE! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ And yes, I realize that I missed focus there…again. *sighs* I have yet to figure out how to take good pictures of these tiny balls of energy.

Now we are three days away from leaving for our new home. Seriously….my mind is being blown….WHEN DID ALL OF THIS HAPPEN?!

If you guys remember my Random Life Update from last month, I talked about Dovid falling off of the chair and getting a gash beside his eye. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ Well guess what happened this month? Yep. He was running outside and tripped and skidded across the sidewalk. *winces in pain for him* He scratched the area around his eye (THE SAME EYE) pretty badly. POOR LITTLE GUY! I feel so bad for him!

We spent a lot of September packing, cleaning (that was by far the most used activity), saying goodbye to friends (๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ), and visiting fun places around TN (mostly our downtown). It felt so crazy just looking around and realizing, “We’re leaving this”. I’m still in shock….

I decided that my nose was a mess and needed to heal. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Almost two years ago, I got my nostril pierced. I SO wish that I could go back and tell myself, “KEEP YOUR HANDS AWAY FROM YOUR NOSE”. The piercers told me not to touch it, but I have a habit of ignoring seemingly-useless-at-the-moment rules unless people explain to me WHY they’re important. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ I also didn’t realize that nostril piercings take 4-6 months to heal completely. Needless to say, my nose was a mess, my piercing migrated at least 1/4 of an inch and looked awful. I finally decided to just let my nose heal completely and then get it re-pierced (when the piercing shops open up again). XD I know better this time. XD I will also get my septum pierced!!! SUPER excited about that!!!!!!!!

In other news….FALL HAS ARRIVED. I love fall so much. It is certainly my favorite season of all. I love the crispness of the air, the beauty of the colors (I SO LOVE THE COMBINATION OF RED, YELLOW AND ORANGE!!!!!!), and the festivity that you can breathe in the very air. I LOOOOOVE FALLLLLLLLLLL!

We all caught a cold. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ So instead of spending my nights playing with my gliders, they ran around their cage and I read. XD My plan was to spend extra time with them and let them out more during the last few days here so that they wouldn’t be so stressed with the move. So it was very likely that something would happen to prevent that. ๐Ÿ˜‘๐Ÿ˜‚ While I was busy sitting beside tissues and wishing my sore throat would disappear, I had time to create a sugar glider quiz. It was tons of fun to make. You can take it here, if you’d like! ๐Ÿ™‚

And now for cuteness by our resident Cute Provider, Yoveil…

One Sunday Yoveil started crying. When we asked her what was wrong, she said that she was sad that she had grown up. She then proceeded to talk about all of the wonderful times she had had when she was “little”. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ She talked about swimming with Daddy in the lake at Minnesota and playing on playsets that she loved. I was trying so hard not to laugh because she was genuinely very sad and nostalgic, but it was so funny! What other four year old cries about being so grown up and missing the old times?!

Do you love fall? Have you ever messed up a piercing? Do you feel like Yoveil does? What do you like to do on long trips?

  2. So I got my 2nd and 3rd ear piercings last November(someone should have told me that they take extra time to heal since they are higher up on the ear) anyway, I ended up really hurting myself, I could see the inside of my ear๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ซ*so much pain* thankfully they healed(almost)and letโ€™s just say, Iโ€™m never allowing my kids to get a piercing on the spot I got mine ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ™†๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™…๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธtoo much pain during the healing process.

  4. Thanks for sharing a bit of you life with us! Wow! You’re moving again?! I hope everything goes smoothly!
    I do love fall!
No, I’ve never gotten a piercing before.
Sometimes I do feel like Yoveil (that was so cute, by the way๐Ÿ˜ƒ)
I haven’t been on a long trip an a, for lack of a better word ๐Ÿ˜‰, long time. But when I did go on long trips, I read and did school.
I’ve been really busy this month. I’m doing LOTS of chores (I can’t too easily convince my brothers to do some of them, partly due to the fact that the older one has chores of his own). On top of that, I’m trying to get my last year of school done. So, all in all, I haven’t had a lot of extra time to do other things like reading. What tragedy! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

      1. You’re welcome! ๐Ÿฅฐ I like your posts! They’re interesting!
Well, last time we went on a long trip, I read a book about Ida Scudder, a missionary to India. Oh! I also knitted on that trip!
I know! Once, I had so much time on my hands that, as far as I remember, I read several books (not very long ones) in one day. I might have been speed reading a bit, and I probably didn’t enjoy them as much as I could have if I had read more slowly.
