*attempts not to join the chorus of screaming and crying children in the background*
I don’t know about you guys, but all of my siblings have been bent on screaming loudly, crashing into things and making unnecessary amounts of loud noises lately. It’s like they took up a new hobby….and really love it and don’t seem to want to stop anytime soon. π± Dovid was teething at the beginning of July and then towards the end, he caught a cold. π¦ So he’s been grouchy and weepy. Yoveil has had an increased need for attention and the four very stressed people above 13 in this house are running loooooow on attention to give. Enter more crying.
Lovely way to start out my Random Life Update, eh? But seriously, it’s like all I can think about. Probably because it’s all I can hear at the moment. I shouldn’t be writing this right now….. July ended up being a very stressful month and now I’m very tired and not fun to be around. XD π₯±π΄ The last few days of the month, I was incredibly, seriously, extremely, horribly exhausted. XD Like more tired than I’ve been in ages (which is saying something because *ahem* it feels like I’m always tired….) If I sat in one place for more than a few minutes, I would have fallen asleep….XD
Let’s see…. we didn’t do much for the fourth. We watched our neighbors set off fireworks in the evening, which was fun. Dovid loved the fireworks and would go, “BOOM!” after they went off. He got a little nervous about the big one that were really close and would hug me, hide his face in my shoulder and then peak out when it was over. π€© Kids are adorable. Yes, I realize I just said that, even though I’m in pain from their screams. XD
And of course we had our trip back to Minnesota for our last ortho appointment there!! That was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed the whole trip (and, of course, being brace-free! *cheers*).
We also took a mini trip to Johnson City. I was going to write up a whole post about it, but I was tired and didn’t. XD So it gets inserted in the “life update” instead. XD It was rather spur of the moment (the night before, to be exact). Daddy had a job up there, and we all went. We couldn’t leave the guinea pigs and sugar gliders, so we brought them along. That was…interesting. It’s amazing how much extra planning has to happen when you bring pets on trips. XD The sugar gliders traveled very well. We got a nice travel cage and I brought a bunch of toys and treats for them. π Beyond being scared of the extra noise level, they seemed to do very well. π
We didn’t do a TON while in Johnson City. (Did I mention that I was quite tired and Yoveil and Dovid were very fussy? Dovid did NOT like the car ride at all….) We spent Thursday afternoon, all of Friday and part of Saturday there. We got doughnuts for breakfast (amazing doughnuts, I was in love). Friday afternoon we visited a dino sculpture park. Besides the tons of mosquito that flocked to me, it was fun. π

We had pizza that night and attempted to find a good movie to watch. The next morning we had more doughnuts (love the boston cream!) and visited a little historic sight. We checked out of our hotel, went shopping, met up with Daddy and drove back home (through the lovely rain. I love rain). It was a fun lil trip. (I absolutely LOVE traveling! TAKE ME ON A VACATION!!ππ)
Something tragic that happened this month had to do with our pool. *cue dramatic, sad music* Let’s just say, she’s no more. π₯At the beginning of the month, it sprung a leak and all of the water drained out. Daddy tried to fix it a couple times but the same thing happened. Later in the month, he tried for the final time. We got it filled up again and the kids went swimming for a few hours. The next morning, all of the water had vanished. π It was a great old pool, though. We’ve had it for like seven years. π
I’ve had a lot of fun stuff to listen to lately. ADVENTURES IN ODYSSEY RELEASED THEIR NEW ALBUM, BEST KEPT SECRETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooo excited about that and can’t wait to listen to the rest of it!!!!! Ah, I looove AIO so much! π π (Although I do really miss the way the old episodes were written….I have no words for the first three episodes. They were….very disappointing to say the least.) I also found three new songs that I loved and basically had on repeat for the second half of July. (You Came So Close by Andrew Peterson, Alone by NF and Beautiful Addiction by NF)
Baruch loves jelly beans and BEGGED me to help him and Nahum make them. Eventually, I agreed and we ATTEMPTED to make them….Key word, attempted. We made one batch of lime and one batch of garlic (yeah, I know). Neither turned out terribly well… It was a fun experience anyway!
We also made CRONUTS! They’re like a cross between a croissant and a doughnut. It was a three day process, and trying to fill them was a disaster, but on the whole, I’d say that they turned out pretty well! They tasted AMAZING! *heart eyes*
I’ve really been slacking when it comes to writing, but I have a good excuse explanation. My brother (Baruch wants to remain anonymous) was very mad at me and thought it would be a great idea to dump water over my computer. π¨π°π± Needless to say, Computer didn’t like that very much. Thankfully, the only thing damaged was my keyboard, so he had to pay for a replacement. But it took a while to come and I was without my writing computer for a while. π¦
My inspiration and ideas for blogging kind of died. You may have noticed that I broke my schedule quite a bit and posted much fewer times than I had planned. π£ *kicks self* I won’t even mention that the National Ice Cream Day post I had written six months before, when I was bored…. I thought about taking a break, and even wrote up a post saying so, but I am too indecisive to stick to something like that, sooo….yeah.
A cold also found our family. π¦ So I spent a few nights sleeping in the guest room to avoid getting the animals sick (’cause they’re in our room XD). Then Jehosheba and Yoveil got the cold and we traded places. Yoveil loved it and thought it was SO much fun, because it was a “sleepover”. (And yes, she was devastated and cried extensively when she had to “move” back into her other room. XD)
We got quite a few new fish for Nahum’s tank. The whole thing is really cool looking! It has live water plants (THEY ARE SUCH BEAUTIFUL COLORS) and the colorful fish and snails look so at home there. I love sitting in front of it and just watching the whole little place! β€
I read a TON this month. With my computer not working and me avoiding playing with Ink and Dreamer while I was sick, I realized that I had a ton of time when I wasn’t doing anything. XD So I just read. And bought more books. And read them. XD
Well guys, gotta run to nowhere in particular. Hope you had an awesome July!
~Hattush
What did you do in July? Do you have a swimming pool? Have you stayed healthy? Have you read any good books lately? Do you listen to AIO? Did you celebrate National Ice Cream Day? ππ Have you gone on any trips lately?

I love reading these posts so much Hattush! Seriously– you’re like the only blogger whose posts I don’t skim on, haha!
The most fun thing I did this month was I was able to volunteer at an Anne of Green Gables camp in Georgia! That was a total blast. I actually have an important announcement coming up soon too…and it’s about something that has happened this month so…π

I love garlic.
I love Jelly Beans.
But GARLIC JELLYBEANS?! π€’ Thatβs a big no thanks! Lol
Iβm going to have to look up those songs. I never know titles, so I wonder if they are ones on our playlist already.βΊοΈ
If you like AIO, have you listened to the Adventum CDs? You should look into them! You might like them too!
Good books? Hmmm ANYTHING by Lynn Austin. π Christian Historical Fiction that I canβt put down is my jam! Right now Iβm reading The Persian Gamble by Joel C Rosenberg. Itβs pretty good, a suspenseful book, but a bit different than my usual choices.

Yeah, that was my thought, too. XD But the boys wanted to do their own version of the “beanboozled” game (which they didn’t end up doing because they could smell which one was garlic and which wasn’t, lol). I think Daddy liked them, though. XD He loooooooooves garlic.
You should! They’re great songs.
I haven’t listened to Adventum CDs! But i love audios!! π
Oh cool! I’ll have to look up books by her! π

Good post! In answer to some of your questions….ummm… well, I did a lot in July, but looking back, it doesn’t seem I really did too many “big” things! π
No, we don’t have a swimming pool…*but I wish we did*.
Yeah, I and my family have basically stayed healthy.
Read any good books?? Ummm…well, right now I’m reading a book called “Exodus to a Hidden Valley” by Eugene Morse. It’s about a family that lived in the Burmese jungle for several years. It’s pretty interesting! (After you get through the first several chapters.) Also, I recently read a real pager-turner called “Hiding in the Light” by Rifqa Bary. It’s about a Muslim girl who became a Christian and…well, I don’t want to spoil the rest. But it is soooooo interesting! I read it in two days and found it hard to place it down.
No, sadly we haven’t gone on any trips lately. π

Do you ever go swimming anywhere?
GLAD THAT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE MOSTLY HEALTHY!! β€
