My Favorite Songs

What can I say? I love music. Period. XD Make sure to check out some the videos to those songs!

Island of the misfit toys

I love this song. It resonates so deeply with me. I heard it and I was like, “Someone who understands!” XD

From a place so vulnerable where I’m coming from
About to break down, I’m feeling so overdone
Lost my young one but joy showed up in the morning
And all of a sudden my burdens just weren’t important
Got to live life, fly high, where the eagles are
And me, I’m out here, pointing where the sleepless are
Yeah, been overlooked, wishing they would notice you
Doing everything in your power to get ahold of you,
Rejected by the world accepted by the Lord
Puttin’ numbers on the board
And we’re misfits ’til it’s finished
And I love and I hope you get to hear this
This is for the
Cutters, the goofballs, run aways, lonely, miserable, bullied kids
Feeling like the old me.
Don’t you forget
That you are loved

Drowning by KB

Tell me, can you catch me, I’m fallin’
Tryna make my way to the shore, but I’m callin’ out
I’mma be gone by the mornin’
I can feel the end comin’ now
Don’t let me drown, throw the raft
Before I drown pull me up now

Scars by TobyMac

When life cuts so deep
Try and remember
You are not alone
We’ve all been there
Scars come with livin’
You are not alone
We’ve all been there (been there, been there, oh), oh
So lift your head, lift your head
Lift your head to where your help comes from
Yeah, you, you’re not alone
We’ve all been there
Scars come with livin’
Life ain’t got no sequel
We all broken people
The only road to found is lost

A Long Way by Josh Garrels

I rediscovered this song on my 15th birthday, and it has been my favorite since then. I’ve literally listened to it over a hundred times.

There’s a time in our lives
To return, sacrifice
Wild grass has grown high
On the path between our lives
There’s a light in the trees
It’s closer now, I’m on my knees
Oh Father, forgive me, please
I came a long, long way back home
To see you one more time

If you fall by JJ Heller

This is a BEAUTIFUL song. I want to be this person to everyone (which may not be possible, but I can dream, right?).

You are a house that’s broken down
You are a house that’s burning
And everything in me wants to run
But that’s not love

If you fall, I fall with you
If you hurt I feel it too
Even if my heart turns black and blue
I will love you

Can You Hold Me by NF

Just wrap me in your arms, in your arms
I don’t wanna be nowhere else
Take me from the dark, from the dark
I ain’t gonna make it myself
Put your arms around me
Put your arms around me
Let your love surround me
I am lost
I am lost

Rescue by Lauren Daigle

You guys….if you haven’t heard this song yet, stop everything you’re doing and listen to it. I’ve played this over and over again. JUST READ THE LYRICS. *cries* They’re so beautiful.

I will send out an army to find you
In the middle of the darkest night
It’s true, I will rescue you

There is no distance
That cannot be covered
Over and over
You’re not defenseless
I’ll be your shelter
I’ll be your armor

I hear you whisper underneath your breath
I hear your SOS, your SOS

Ulysses by Josh Garrels

Sirens call my name, they say they’ll ease my pain, then break me on the stones
But true love is the burden that will carry me back home
Carry me with the, memories of the, beauty I have known
I’m sailing home to you I won’t be long
By the light of moon I will press on
So tie me to the mast of this old ship and point me home
Before I lose the one I love, before my chance is gone
I want to hold, her in, my arms

Slow Fade by Casting Crowns

It’s a slow fade when black and white are turned to gray
And thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid
When you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It’s a slow fade, it’s a slow fade

The journey from your mind to your hands
Is shorter than you’re thinking
Be careful if you think you stand
You just might be sinking

Tell Your Heart to Beat Again by Danny Gokey

Close your eyes and breathe it in
Let the shadows fall away
Step into the light of grace
Yesterday’s a closing door
You don’t live there anymore
Say goodbye to where you’ve been
And tell your heart to beat again

God Only Knows by For King & Country

I first heard this during a rough time in my life and it spoke to me and comforted me a lot. (Also, the music video is great. So moving.)

You keep a cover over every single secret
So afraid if someone saw them they would leave
But somebody, somebody, somebody sees you
Somebody, somebody will never leave you

God only knows what you’ve been through
God only knows what they say about you
God only knows how it’s killing you
But there’s a kind of love that God only knows

Art of Drifting by KB

You’ve been driftin’
Nobody wakes up addicted
Every great fall’s from 100 bad decisions
Whole legacy passed, you just no-looked it
Lost in the sauce, didn’t know you’re slow cookin’
Remember when you didn’t wanna be alone?

Art of Hope by KB

Oh, what I would do if I could change time back
Change my acts instead of change my facts
What if it was a month I woulda gave y’all back
Instead of finding new ways I can give y’all tax
If we celebrated faith like we celebrate gold
Sold out souls over sold out shows
Some are in the field I think I lost my goals
Who is that man in the mirror? Really I don’t know

Anchor by The Harvest

Needless to say, this is another one of my all-time favorites. The music is beautiful and the words are so encouraging.

In the night
In the fire
Feel your arms
Next to mine
Calling to me
To stand the ground
Fight the fight
I am yours
You are mine

Truth be told by Matthew West

There’s a sign on the door, says, “Come as you are” but I doubt it
‘Cause if we lived like it was true, every Sunday morning pew would be crowded
But didn’t you say the church should look more like a hospital
A safe place for the sick, the sinner and the scarred and the prodigals
Like me

Start over by Flame

To the broken-hearted that wished that they’d
Never been born, never been torn, never sinned, never disobeyed
I know you think there’s no hope, but that ain’t true, Jesus saves!
I know you feelin’ regret
(Like I) brought this all on myself
(Like I) messed it up big time, and this time I don’t deserve God’s help
(Thinking) how can God forgive me after knowin’ what I did (can He?)

All Alone by Kutless

You’re all alone
Running out of ways to
Hold on to hope
And it always slips away
You’re all alone
But you don’t have to
Pretend to cope
There is a brighter way

SOS by We The Kingdom

I listened to this over and over again and it became a sort of prayer for me.

I’m reaching out
One last plea
Is hope all gone?
Somebody save me

I’m lost at sea
Is hope all gone?
Somebody save me

Find your way by KB

You’re a masterpiece
Not a piece to be mastered, your master
You will not decide your the Master’s piece
That makes you flawless, flawless
Regardless, you’re a loved woman
Who taught you to hate your skin?
Who taught you to hate your lips?
Who taught you, huh?
Who saw you and made you live?
Who sought you and made you His?

Won’t Give Up by Colony House

I wear the guilt upon my chest
‘Cause I feel like I earned it
And keep the bloodstains on my hands
To show that I’ve done this

Oh how I wish I could escape that day
Take back time and make everything OK
But I can’t

Shame by Andy Mineo

I feel like everyone know the secrets I wanna hide
And every time they ask me how I’m doing, I just say “I’m fine”
Too embarrassed to share it or maybe too much pride
I create my own prison, holding the keys inside
Punishing myself for all of these crimes
And I’m trying to convince God that I’m not a waste of His time
What’s wrong with me? Am I defective?
I keep on making a mess, why can’t I ever get it together?
Soon people gon’ find out I’m not what they expected
They see who I really am then I end up rejected
I try to stand tall, but these knees are collapsing
‘Stead of asking for help these apps’ll distract me
So lonely, but so many people are friending me
While I post, I hope one day to be happy as I pretend to be

Hate Myself by NF

I walk through the ashes of my passions
Reminiscin’ with the baggage in my casket
Get lost in the questions I can’t answer
Can’t stand who I am, but it don’t matter
We scream to be free, but I stay captured
Knee-deep in defeat of my own actions
Feel weak, but the peace that I keep lackin’

Sorrow by Sleeping At Last

It feels like falling.
It feels like rain.
Like losing my balance
Again and again.
It once was so easy;
Breathe in, breathe out.
But at the foot of this mountain,
I only see clouds.

Calling You  by KB

You know Jesus he wanted to die in that garden
Acquainted to man up his sorrows
But he kept up the fight
‘Cause he knew joy, it was coming tomorrow
You haven’t squeezed that revolver
‘Cause you know that there’s hope at the end of the tunnel
Embrace it, don’t matter how faint

Rise by Josh Garrels

Take courage sons, for we must go under
The heart of darkness and set them free
But don’t lose heart when you see the numbers
There’s no measure for the faith we bring
And it’s given us to overcome
If we run where the spirit calls us on
The greatest things have yet to come
With the dawn we will rise

*wipes forehead.* Wow, lot of songs. Of course I have a bunch more, but this post is already long. XD If you want to see more of my favorites, check out my 2020 Playlist page!
