Wow, another month nearly over! It really is crazy how time flies. April flew by with a flurry of rain, research, boredom, tea, reading, lots of stevia-coated-ice and gum. 😉
I’m really not sure what to write here. I’ve started this post like four times and just keep on deleting my attempts ‘cause they aren’t interesting at all. :I In reality, I didn’t do much this month. If someone was video-taping my life at the moment, they’d probably skip over April ‘cause not a lot happened. XD
What I read
Ah man, I read so much this month. I rediscovered my great, deep, wide love for books and spent way too much time buried in my books. *nods*
What I listened to
I listened to quite a bit of AIO with my siblings or when I was baking (or bored). As I write this, I’m listening to the episode First Hand Experience.
I discovered that I love the album Psalms, Vol. 2 by Shane & Shane. 🙂 I also added a few songs to my playlist:
My writing
Writing was kind to me this month! 😛 I got quite a lot done and written, which was great! I’ve avoided it for quite a while, and it feels great to get back into it!
A sample from a random short story I decided to start one Saturday while I was mowing:
“Hey, who’s that?”
Scarlet’s face grew warm and her cheeks began to burn. She turned her stereo on and let the loud music soften the angry voices.
“You okay?”
Scarlet startled slightly when she felt a hand laid on her shoulder. She turned and saw concern written on Rosanna’s face. She shrugged.
“Yeah, I’m fine. You wanna go get some ice cream or something?”
“Sure.” Rosanna added, softy, “Scarlet, I want you to know…I’m here if you ever want to talk.”
Their eyes met and, for a split second, Rosanna could see worry, pain and fear in the brown eyes of her friend. But only for a second.
“C’mon, let’s go.”
A flash fiction piece that I wrote:
It’s a warm hand against my back or a quick hug in the middle of a busy day. It’s a kind word or encouragement to keep trying. Love is something that is seen through actions, spoken through words and felt in the heart. Love is what keeps us strong and gives us hope. Love is a light in the darkest night.
Your monthly dose of Cuteness
Yoveil: I love sitting on people’s laps! It’s just so cozy! Kind of like sitting in someone’s ear!
Yoveil: I can’t have gum anymore, Hada. *sighs sadly* I’ll get in trouble if I do.
Me: why?
Yoveil: because I take it out of my mouth and roll it up into little balls and then put it into my mouth and then take it out and play with it again.
(We have a rule in this house – no playing with gum – due to the large amounts that have been found on the carpet, in clothes and other random places)
Me: well, at least you’re being responsible [in admitting that].
Yoveil: *sighs again* I just can’t have gum anymore. It’s so sad.

What did you guys do this month? Any plans for May? Do you like spring? Have you done any writing lately?
XD Yoveil is adorable. Tell her that hey, maybe sheâll get to have it again soon. I canât really have it for another two years! Stupid braces. XD You are sooooo good at writing Hattush!!

I’ll tell her. 😉 Ooh that’s tragic. Technically, I’m not supposed to have it ’cause of my braces, but I may be ignoring that rule…………………*decides that I may be a terrible person* XD
Thank you! You’re a great writer, BTW. ❤

Awesome book selections!!! You’re liking Robertson books? Our quarantine life has been filled with evenings of Duck Dynasty episodes. Ha ha. We have that gum rule at our house too.

I like this post! Aww! That segment of Yoveil is cute! I don’t remember doing anything very interesting in April. Except that there are mockingbird babies in our tree. 😍 Well, the first interesting plan for this month–my bro’s fifteenth birthday. 😁 Yes! I like spring!

Have you read any good books lately?

Not lately, (except for 1 and 2 Kings and Hosea in the Bible!)
I read a series called “The Unwanteds” by Lisa McMann quite a while back. It wasn’t Christian, but it was very good.
I also read an amazing allegorical series by Ted Dekker called “The Lost Books Series”. It’s a set of 6, and the first one is called “Chosen”.
