2020 – Happy Purim!

It’s that time of year again! I’m covered in flour and jam; the house smells amazing, and holiday music is in the air! Sunset brings this celebration…. People, happy Purim!!! *GRINS*

During Purim, we celebrate how God used Esther and Mordecai to stop Haman’s plot to kill the Jewish people! You can read the whole amazing story in Esther. πŸ™‚ I encourage you to do so! (And please read it straight from the bible….there are a lot of “versions” of the story that have waaaay too much added to them….)

Anyway, we’ve had a fun day here so far. I spent a while making hamentashen (special three pointed cookies – representing Haman’s hat! πŸ˜‰ )

Our final creation! πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚ ^^ I think the two most common fillings are lemon poppy seed and just jam. Buuut we always get creative! πŸ˜‰ (Last year, we did some with jelly beans and M&M’s XD) So here we have grape jam, chocolate peanut butter, hazelnut cream cheese (Baruch added sprinkles to a few), custard, and cream cheese caramel (made by Sis!)

We had an amazing supper! It was so good. πŸ˜‰

Pita chips from Costco, hummus, and yummy dips! (And two radishes there on the table…XD)

      1. Thank-you, Hattush ! When we were in Nazareth, there was a lovely ladies’ store, and the name of the store was SALLY. The food in Israel was the best I’ve eaten anywhere. πŸ˜„ I love the name of your blog.

          1. It is the most spectacular place on earth !
And, as Isaiah prophecized, the desert is blooming ! The country is growing bananas, and cotton, fruits and vegetables of every description and so many exotic flowers, for export.
We marvelled at tomatoes plants growing at the shore of the Sea of Galilee ! πŸ˜„

              1. Hi Hattush ! It had been a dream of mine for years to visit Israel, and a friend and I went with a group of pilgrims, to visit the holy sights. There are many white doves flying around there. I love these gentle birds !
I enjoyed looking at the foods that you prepared for Purim.
                Thanks for sharing. πŸ€—
